28th September - Round 22 (of 22) Bob (43 points) beat Denis by 1. JohnH & Keith shared the 2's pot (£6.50) - JohnH just needs a 2 on the 15th for a Slam. Bob's 75 won the Best Gross Score - he did the back 9 in 34 (1 under par).

Brian (573 points, average 38.2) won by 10 from Ian, Bunny came 3rd with 555 points, JohnH was 4th with 554 points, and Bob 5th with 553 points. Ian had the best overall average - 36.7, Bunny was second with 36.2.

7 of the 14 gaps between places were 1 or 2 points! The only gaps in double figures were Brian's win by 10, and TonyC (13th) was 84 ahead of TonyS - but TonyS is now playing to his handicap, so we are all in with a chance for the Winter 2002-03 Competition.

21st September - Round 21 (of 22) Denis (43 points) beat Peter by 1. Bunny & Ian shared the 2's pot (£8) - Ian just needs a 2 on the 17th for a Slam. Brian (573 points, average 38.2) leads by 12 from Ian. Ian has the best overall average - 36.8.

Brian looks a certainty to win, and JohnH (552 points) has an outside chance of snatching the Runner-up trophy from Ian after leaping from 7th to 3rd.

14th September - Round 20 (of 22) Mike (39 points) beat Simon on countback. Simon won the rollover 2's pot (£13.50) - he just needs a 2 on the 15th for a Slam. Brian (570 points, average 38) leads by 12 from Ian. Ian has the best overall average - 36.8. 

7th September - Round 19 (of 22) JohnC (44 points) beat Ted on countback. The 2's pot (£6) rolled-over. The average handicap dropped to 17.7, beating the previous best of 18.1 between the 3rd and 24th August. Brian (565 points, average 37.7) leads by 7 from Ian. Ian has the best overall average - 36.8.

Brian looks a good bet after his 41 on Saturday (he discarded a 30). JohnH (505) can tie with Ian's current total (558) if he finishes with 3 rounds of 36, and Barry would beat it by 1 - these 3 are favourites for Runner-up. If the next 9 players shoot 36 for their remaining rounds they will finish with between 551 and 537 points. JohnC (away 14th) must play on 21st & 28th in order to drop his "Bum" 21!

24th August - Round 18 (of 22) Bunny (39 points) beat Simon & TonyS on countback. Ian, Simon & TonyS shared the rollover 2's pot (£11.50). Simon improved his lowest Gents Handicap since this Summer's competition started - now 8.2. Brian (554 points, average 36.9) leads by 2 from Ian. Ian has the best overall average - 36.8. Denis & Peter joined us for the 1st time - for the golf & AMM.

10th August - Round 17 (of 22) Simon (41 points) beat Dave by 1. The 2's pot (£5.50) rolled-over. Simon's 76 (split 40/36) took the Best Gross Score lead on countback from his previous 76 on 20th July, and he now has the lowest Gents Handicap since this Summer's competition started - 8.8. Brian (554 points, average 36.9) leads by 13 from Bob. Ian has the best overall average - 36.8.

3rd August - Round 16 (of 22) Dave (45 points split 24/21, the 2nd best in this competition - on countback) beat Barry by 1. Brian, JohnH & Ted shared the 2's pot (£5).  The average score was 39.2, beating the previous best of 38.0 on 20th July. The average handicap dropped to 18.1 - the first time it has been below the 18.5 Club Handicap average we started with on 6th April. Brian (542 points, average 36.1) took over the lead by 7 from Bob (after 8 weeks). Ian (no show) has the best overall average - 36.7.

27th July - Round 15 (of 22) TonyC (45 points split 23/22, the best in this competition - on countback) beat Bunny by 3. Bob won the 2's pot (£6).  Bob (526 points, average 35.2) leads by 1 from Brian. Ian has the best average - 36.7.

20th July - Round 14 (of 22) Barry (45 points split 29/16, the highest in this competition) beat Ted by 2, and won the 2's pot (£6). Simon's 76 took the Best Gross Score lead, and he now has the lowest Gents Handicap - 10.0. The average score was 38.0, beating the previous best of 36.5 on 6th July. Bob (492 points, average 35.1) leads by 3 from Brian. Ian has the best average - 36.5.

13th July - Round 13 (of 22) Bob (40 points, Gross 78 - equalling Simon's Best Gross Score of this competition on 4th May) beat Keith by 2. Bob, Ian & Simon shared the 2's pot (£6.50). Bob (461 points, average 35.5) leads by 13 from Brian. Ian now has the best average - 36.4.

6th July - Round 12 (of 22) Brian (43 points) beat Mike by 1. The average score was 36.5, beating the previous best of 36.3 on 4th May. Bunny & Simon shared the 2's pot (£6.50). Bob (421 points, average 35.1) leads by 9 from Brian. JohnH has the best average - 36.7.

29th June - Round 11 (of 22) Ian (41 points) beat JohnC by 1. Mike won the 2's pot (£6). Bob (383 points, average 34.8) leads by 14 from Brian. JohnH has the best average - 36.7.

22nd June - Round 10 (of 22) JohnH (42 points) beat Bob, JohnC & Mike  by 4, and won the rollover 2's pot (£10) with 2 2's! Bob (353 points, average 35.3) leads by 21 from Brian. JohnH has the best average - 36.7.

15th June - Round 9 (of 22) JohnH (37 points) beat Bob by 2. The 2's pot (£4.50) rolled-over. Bob (315 points, average 35.0) leads by 15 from Brian. JohnH has the best average - 35.8.

1st June - Round 8 (of 22) Barry (42 points) beat Bob (Gross 79) & Ted by 3. Mike  won the 2's pot (£4.50). Bob (280 points, average 35.0) took over the lead by 5 from Brian (after 6 weeks), and now has the lowest Gents Handicap - 10.8. Bunny has the best average - 36.3. TonyS' Team Handicap was cut at last (by 1), despite finishing joint last in the Singles - with Ian!

25th May - Round 7 (of 22) Bob (37 points) beat Ian on countback. Ted won the double-rollover 2's pot (£16). Brian (242 points, average 34.6) leads by 1 from Bob. Ian has the best average - 37.0.

18th May - Round 6 (of 22) TonyC (41 points) beat Keith by 2. The 2's pot (£9) rolled-over again. Brian (216 points, average 36.0) leads by 12 from Bob. Ian has the best average - 37.0.

11th May - Round 5 (of 22) JohnH (38 points) won again this week - he beat Mike by 2. The 2's pot (£3.50) rolled-over. Brian (183 points, average 36.6) leads by 14 from Simon. JohnC and JohnH have the best average - 37.3.

4th May - Round 4 (of 22) JohnH (44 points) beat Ted by 2. The 2's pot (£6.50) was won by Ted. Brian (153 points, average 38.3) is new solo leader - 4 ahead of JohnC. Simon took over Best Gross Score with a 78.

27th April - Round 3 (of 22) Ian (41 points) beat Dave & Mike by 2. The double roll-over 2's pot (£19) was won by Bob. Brian & Dave (112 points, average 37.3) are our joint new leaders - 1 ahead of Ian. Ian joined JohnC in the lead for Best Gross Score (82).

20th April - Round 2 (of 22) JohnC (42 points) beat Barry by 2. The 2s pot (£12) rolled-over again. Brian (74 points, average 37) is our new leader - 1 ahead of Bunny, Dave, JohnC & Keith! JohnC took over Best Gross Score with an 82.

6th April - Round 1 (of 22) Bunny (36 points) beat Dave on countback. The 2s pot (£6.50) rolled-over. TonyC looks favourite to win the "Bum Round" trophy with 22 points in the 1st round! Dave is the initial Best Gross Score leader with 85.
